LGBT & Friends Hiking Group | Makawao Forest Preserve, Kahakapao Loop Trail (Maui) | February 9, 8:30 a.m.
Although many non-native trees were introduced to the island of Maui for the sake of a US Timber experiment, some native species can still be found there, including the well-known ohia lehua tree that provides nectar for native honeycreepers. Come out and experience the 5.5 mile trail this reserve has to offer. Hikers will meet at 8:30 at the Starbucks Parking Lot (near the OLD Lowe’s) on Dairy Road to carpool.
