Lei magazine celebrated May Day with Hula’s Bar and Lei Stand for the statewide holiday! Those strolling by Hula’s in Waikīkī on May 1st could smell the fragrant plumeria lei that lined the stairway to the iconic bar. May Day is special in the islands as a day where many make or gift loved ones with fresh lei and celebrate its beautiful art. The team from Mei Day Hawaii, a Honolulu based floral studio, filled the space with colorful and eccentric floral arrangements. Patrons joined in the making of fresh ti leaf lei and enjoyed the sweet sounds of singer Mahiʻai and DJ Vaughn. Some even took the stage for a number of hula dances!
